John Shelton: OMG. This place is a hidden Gem. This is a beautiful mansion with apartments built into the design. The owners live in the main quarters and they could not be better people. I toured all the apartments while I was there and they are expertly decorated. The courtyard has a swimming pool and is professionally landscaped and maintained. The owners are very sweet and provide better service than a 5 star hotel. It's located in a gated community so there is no walking in and out to get food but the owners can arrange delivery and rides to and from many nearby beaches, restaurants and activities. It is a hidden gem, and while I literally mean hidden, it is a short, cheap, taxi ride anyplace you want to go in Peurto Plata with villa owner vetted taxis. The owner speaks English fluently and is a person with the highest morals and integrity. You will be safer there than in a five star resort but you will have all the privacy you want.
